RESOLUTION NO. 2026-294
RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ETC., SETTING
DATE OF BID OPENING AS JUNE 25, 2026, AND DATE OF
PUBLIC HEARING AS JULY 20, 2026, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SERVICES, CONTRACT
AB-2026-06-01P (1442 SYCAMORE STREET, FORMER RATH
BUILDINGS), AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO
PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, preliminary plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost have
been prepared for the Planning Department in conjunction with Asbestos Abatement Services,
Contract AB-2026-06-01P (1442 Sycamore Street, former Rath buildings); and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to set a date for receipt of bids and a date for public hearing
on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost for said project; and
to direct publication of notice as required by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The preliminary plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost in
conjunction with Asbestos Abatement Services, Contract AB-2026-06-01P (1442 Sycamore
Street, former Rath buildings), are hereby approved.
2. Sealed bids for said project shall be received June 25, 2026.
3. A public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate
of cost for said project is hereby set for July 20, 2026.

4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of June 2026.
