RESOLUTION NO. 2026-295
RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AS JULY 6, 2026, TO APPROVE THE FINAL SELECTION OF
ROUTE AND AUTHORIZING TO ACQUIRE OR CONDEMN
NECESSARY PROPERTY FOR RIGHT-OF-WAY,
PERMANENT EASEMENTS, AND TEMPORARY
EASEMENTS RELATED TO THE KATOSKI
DRIVE/HUNTINGTON ROAD RECONSTRUCTION,
GENERALLY LOCATED EAST AND SOUTH OF 1350
KATOSKI DRIVE, EXTENDING TO THE WEST CITY LIMITS
LINE, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH
PUBLIC NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is undertaking the Katoski Drive/Huntington
Road Reconstruction Project, generally located east and south of 1350 Katoski Drive and
extending to the west city limits line; and
WHEREAS, in connection with said project, it is necessary to approve the final selection
of route and to acquire certain property interests, including right-of-way, permanent easements,
and temporary easements, for construction, reconstruction, grading, drainage, access, and related
public improvements; and
WHEREAS, Iowa law requires that a public hearing be held prior to approval of the final
selection of route and prior to authorizing the acquisition or condemnation of the necessary
property interests for said public improvement project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. A public hearing be set for July 6, 2026, to receive public comments on the proposal
to approve the final selection of route and authorizing to acquire or condemn necessary property
for right-of-way, permanent easements, and temporary easements related to the Katoski
Drive/Huntington Road reconstruction, generally located east and south of 1350 Katoski Drive,
extending to the west city limits line.

2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required
