RESOLUTION NO. 2016-681 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY CONSERVATION BOARD'S CAT GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE HARTMAN RESERVE NATURE CENTER PROJECT, WITH A CITY MATCH OF $3,954 PROVIDED THROUGH HOTEL/MOTEL TAX GRANT FUNDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO FULLY SIGN AND EXECUTE ANY NECESSARY PAPERWORK. WHEREAS, the Hartman Reserve Nature Center has been the Cedar Valley's center for environmental education for the past forty years and has benefited numerous children and adults over the years, and WHEREAS, there is a recognized need to renovate the Hartman Reserve Nature Center to ensure this valued community facility remains open and available for use, and WHEREAS, after reviewing and approving the concept of the Hartman Reserve Building Renovation project, the City of Waterloo supports the Black Hawk County Conservation Board's submittal of a grant application for Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) funds to support the development of the project, and WHEREAS, there has been widespread local support for the Hartman Reserve Building Renovation Project, the City of Waterloo herewith commits $3,954 in the form of a Hotel/Motel Tax grant towards development of the proposed project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo that they support the Hartman Reserve Building Renovation project and the submission of the Community Attraction and Tourism grant application. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Waterloo has committed $3,954 from its Hotel/Motel grant to the Hartman Reserve Building Renovation project.
