RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF BLACK HAWK
COUNTY EXTENSION AND OUTREACH FOR A VARIANCE
TO SECTION 5-2-6B OF THE WATERLOO CODE OF
ORDINANCES, DISCHARGING AND POSSESSING AIR
RIFLES AND SIMILAR DEVICES; EXCEPTIONS, TO
FIRE AIR RIFLES ON JULY 27, 2013 AS PART OF A
DEMONSTRATION FOR THE 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS
PROGRAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BLACK HAWK
COUNTY 4-H & FFA FAIR BEING HELD AT THE
NATIONAL CATTLE CONGRESS GROUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach is
proposing to fire air rifles on July 27, 2013 as part of a
demonstration for the 4-H Shooting Sports Program in conjunction
with the Black Hawk County 4-H & FFA Fair being held at the
National Cattle Congress Grounds, and
WHEREAS, said operations would be in violation of Section 5-
2-6B of the Waterloo Code of Ordinances, Discharging and
Possessing Air Rifles and Similar Devices; Exceptions, and
WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach has
made formal application for a variance to Section 5-2-6B of the
Waterloo Code of Ordinances, Discharging and Possessing Air
Rifles and Similar Devices; Exceptions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of the Black Hawk County
Extension and Outreach for a variance to Section 5-2-6B of the
Waterloo Code of Ordinances, Discharging and Possessing Air
Rifles and Similar Devices, Exception, to fire air rifles on
July 27, 2013 as part of a demonstration for the 4-H Shooting
Sports Program in conjunction with the Black Hawk County 4-H &
FFA Fair being held at the National Cattle Congress Grounds, be
and the same hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of, March, 2013.
