RESOLUTION NO. 2016-656
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TO PROCEED WITH SIDEWALK
INSPECTION AND REPAIR-- ZONE 6.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that
after public hearing on August 15, 2016, notice having been given as required by law, it is
deemed necessary and advisable that the sidewalks and/or portions of sidewalks for an area
known as Zone 6, be inspected and improved by repairing the same.
The repair of said improvement will be the responsibility of the owner of the property abutting
the sidewalk so designated by the City Engineer as needing repair.
Said inspection shall be completed by the City Engineer of the City of Waterloo, Iowa. The City
of Waterloo will contract the repair work to be completed by a bonded contractor, together with a
25 percent down payment. The City of Waterloo will contract work not completed by the
property owner and deemed by the inspector needing repair, and an accurate itemized account of
all the costs and expenses thereof shall be made to this Council upon completion of said work.
The cost and expense to the City of Waterloo for making said improvement will be assessed, as
provided by law, as a special tax against all property abutting sidewalks and/or portions thereof
so improved.
