RESOLUTION NO. 2013-324
RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF AMERICAN
CANCER SOCIETY FOR A VARIANCE TO ORDINANCE
NO. 3094, NOISE ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the American Cancer Society is requesting a
variance to the Noise Ordinance from 3:00 p.m. on June 21, 2013
to 8:00 a.m. on June 22, 2013, in conjunction with the Relay For
Life of Black Hawk County event to be held at Hawkeye Community
College Campus, including a band/DJ and the use of a PA system,
and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of the Ordinance
No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, said American Cancer Society has made formal
application for a variance effective 3:00 p.m. on June 21, 2013
to 8:00 a.m. on June 22, 2013, together with recommendation and
approval of the Director of Safety Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of the American Cancer Society
for a variance to Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, from 3:00
p.m. on June 21, 2013 to 8:00 a.m. on June 22, 2013, in
conjunction with the Relay For Life of Black Hawk County event to
be held at Hawkeye Community College Campus, including a band/DJ
and the use of a PA system, be and the same hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of May, 2013.
