RESOLUTION NO. 2026-357
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE
WATERLOO POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$12,800.00 FOR SECURITY DETAIL AT THE NATIONAL
CATTLE CONGRESS FAIR IN SEPTEMBER 2026.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo allocates hotel/motel tax funds for discretionary use by
the City Council to support community projects and organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Police Department has applied for funding, in the amount of
$12,800.00, to support a security detail at the National Cattle Congress fair in September 2026;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the application and deems it to be a valuable
initiative deserving of financial support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves the award of $12,800.00 from the hotel/motel tax
discretionary fund to the Waterloo Police Department.
2. The funds are intended to be used specifically by the Waterloo Police Department for a
security detail at the National Cattle Congress fair in September 2026.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of July 2026.
