HomeMy WebLinkAbout3401 Be it resolved by the city council of the city of Waterloo, Iowa: Whereas, it is deemed advisable and necessary to grade, curb, gutter and pave, Miles street from the westerly line of Commercial street to the East line of McKinley street; McKinley street from the north line of Miles street to the north line of Falls avenue; Commercial street from the northwesterly line of Miles street to within two feet of the north rail of the C. R. I. & P. Belt line on Commercial street, together with the necessary intersections on the said above described streets where not already paved, upon motion of the city council without petition therefor by abutting property owners, now, therefore, Be it resolved by the city council of the city of Waterloo, Iowa, that it will consider the following proposed resolution of necessity at a meeting of the city council to be held on the Sth day of September, 19I3, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. at the council chamber in the city hall and the city clerk is hereby direct- ed to give 20 day's notice thereof in accordance with the law and ordinances governing same, said resolution of necessity being as follows to-wit: Be it resolved by the city council of the city of Waterloo, Iowa, that the advisability and necessity of improving the streets hereinafter described is hereby declared and directed: Miles street from the westerly line of Commercial street to the East line of McKinley street; McKinley street from the north line of Miles street to the north line of Fails avenue; Commercial street from the northwesterly line of Miles street to within two feet of the north rail of the C. R. I. & P. belt line on Commercial street together with the necessary intersections on said above described streets where not already paved, upon motion of the city council without petition therefor by abutting property owners. The roadway of Commercial street and Miles street within the limits described to be paved 50 feet in width; McKinley street within the limits described to be paved 40 feet in width and constructed on each side of the roadway a Portland cement concrete curb where not already built. Wherever the existing curb is of sufficient width and depth and can be removed without impairing same, said curb to be reset to new line of curb; said roadway of said above dewcribed streets within the limits named to be paved with concrete 7 inches in depth and in accordance with specificat&ons prepared by the City Engineer, except that part of the street occupied by the W. C. F. & N. Ry. which is to be paved between the rails and one foot outside with No. I Repressed vitrified brick blocks laid on I2 inches of Portland cement concrete base. • 1.414,010 ..
