Resolution of Necessity.
Be it resolved by the city council
of the city of Waterloo, Iowa:
Whereas, it is deemed advisable!
and necessary to construct cement!
sidewalks along certain streets in the!
city of Waterloo, Iowa, hereinafter,
named, now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the city council
•of the city of Waterloo, Iowa, that itl
will consider the following proposed
resolution of necessity at a meeting,
of the city,council to be held on they. _ -

structing cement sidewalks along the
following described streets in the city
of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby declar-

Said walks to be built five (5) feet
and four (4) inches in width, ex-
cept where otherwise specified, and
constructed of the best quality
Portland cement in accordance with
ordinance No. 748 of the ordinances
of the city of Waterloo, Iowa. •
The contractor is to be required to
give a cement sidewalk contractor's
bond as provided by ordinance No.
748, also an additional bond in the
sum of 25 per cent of the contract
price.
The cost of constructing said
sidewalks is to be assessed to the
abutting property and certificates
issued to the contractor for the
amount thereof against a fund to be
Iderived from a tax to be levied
under sections 779 and 841 of the
Code, as amended by chapter 30 of
the acts and resolutions of the thir-
tieth general assembly, which certi-
ficates shall IA accepted by the con-
tractor in payment of said work.
Said improvement is made by order
of the city council without petition
therefor of abutting property owners.
