RESOLUTION NO. 5 /64
Be it resolved by the city council of the city of Waterloo, Iowa.
That in accordance with the provisions of ordinance No. 730, of the
ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, adopted on the 31st day of May,
1911, the Chicago Great Western Railway Company and the Chicago, Rock
Island & Pacific Railway Company be, nd said companies are hereby, ordered
and directed to install and maintain flagmen, within thirty days fro the
date of servioe of a copy of this resolution upon said eompanies, at the
intersections o: their roada and of the following nanad streets: West Fourth
and Bluff streets; West Fifth and Bluff streets. Be it further
Rasolved, That said crrs; s171 shall be protected by flagmen at all hours
of day and niht. Said flaglTen to take a position in or near the center of
said street interseetions, and to warn all persons approaching such ssings
by a suitable flag durin the day time, and by a red lantern after dark,
of the danger by reason of the novarKent of trains, cars or engines over and
upon such crossings. Be it further
Resolved, That the chief of police be, and he is hereby, directed to
cau3a a copy of this resolution to be served en said Chioago Great Western
Railway Company and The Chioago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway Coii.pany forth-
with, and make return 0; 3uch service in the office of the city clerk,
