HomeMy WebLinkAbout3921-06.12.1916 ---2C-f--) RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY No.',___)-- ic Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,Io : Whereas,it is deemed advisable and necessary to construct sewers along certain streets in the City of Waterloo,Iowa,herein- after described,now therefore: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,that it will consider the following proposed resolution of necasity at a meeting of the city council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,to be held at the council chamber in the city hall in said city on the/ day of ,I916,at 7:30 o'c;Lock P.M.,and ''.2r--e- -- the City Clerk is directed t P give fourteen(I4)days notice there- of in accordance with the law and ordinances governing the same, said resolution of necessity being as follows,towite Be it resolved,by the city council, of the City of Waterloo, e Iowa,that the advisitbiiity and nes6ssity of constructing main sewers along the following described streets in the City of Waterloo,Iowa,is hereby declared and directed:: Quincy street from East Fourth to Ankeny streets to be 8 inches in diameter. Kingsley avenue from Clough street to Euclid avenue to be S inches in diameter. Kingsley avenue from Euclid to Michigan avenues to be IO in- ches in diameter. Kingsley avenue from Michigan. to Fletcher avenues to be 12 in- chin diameter. East Fifth street from 100 feet Southwest of the Southwester- ly line of Water street to Lafayette street to be 12 inches in diameter. East. Park avenue from Sycamore to Water streets to be 12 in- ches in diameter. Lafayette street from Oak avenue to 100 feet Northwest of the Illinois Central Railroad Company's Belt line track to be IC in- ches in diameter. Sullivan avenue from Summit avenue to Denver street to be 12 inches in diameter./ Sullivan avenue from Denver to Baltimore streets to be IC in- ches in diameter. Williston avenue from Sullivan avenue to West Fourth street to Sewers-2- be IC inches in diazatter. Williston avenue from Bayard to Vermont streets to be 104in- ches in diameter. Kingsley avenue from Clough to Moir streets to be IC inches in diameter. Commercial street from Eighteenth to Sixteenth streets to be 15 inches in diameter. Commercial street from Sixteenth to Fourteenth streets to be 12 inches in diameter. Parker street from Broadway to Ackermant streets to be 20 in- ches in diameter. Parker street from Ackermant to Columbia streets to be 15 in- ches in diameter. Manhard street from Falls to Beck avenues to be 15 inches in diameter. Beck avenue from Manhard to Duryea streets to be 12 inches in diameter. Burton avenue from Conger street to Fullerton avenue to be 8 inches in diameter. Fullerton avenue from Burton avenue to Alley between Burton Avenue and Willard avenue to be 8 inches in diameter. In the Alley between Burton avenue and Willard avenue,from Fullerton avenue to Park Drive to be 8 inches in diameter,together with a sewer lift afek station complete. Mulberry street from Linden avenue to State street to be IC inches in diameter. Glenwood avenue from Lane to Barkley streets to be TO inches in diameter. Oneida street from Jackson to Mobile streets to be IC inches in diameter. From the intersection of Miles and McKinley streets,South- westerly to Falls avenue at a point near the Waterloo,Cedar Falls & Northern Railway Company's track,said sewer to be constructed on or along said Waterl0o,Cedar Flla & Northern Railway Company's right-of-way or upon adjoining properties,to be 12 inches in dia- meter. Falls avenue from the Waterloo,Cedar Falls & Northern Rail- way Company's tracks West: to Manhard street to be 12 inches in Pewers-3- - diameter,together with a sewer lift, station complete. Courtlandt street from Vinton street East 260 feet to be 8 inches in diameter. Utica street Southerly from Mulberry street: 120 feet to be 8 inches in diameter. • Sewers-4— Said sewers to be constructed of standard vitrified, sewer pipe or of concrete sewer pipe.Said sewer pipe to be laid in conformity with existing grades where already established or to grades to be established by the city council of said city.Man— holes are to be placed alont said sewer as shown by the plans and specifications for said work. All of said work is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor to be prepared by the city engineer of said city and filed tn the office of the City Clerk of said city. The cost of constructing said sewers shall be paid when the work is completed andA accepted by the city council, by sewer certificates issued to the contractor against property abutting on such sewer in proportion to the number of lineal front feet of each parcel thereof,excepting Burton avenue sewer from Conger: street to Fullerton avenue,Fullerton avenue from Burton avenue to Alley between Burton avenue and Willard avenue,in Alley be— tween Burton avenue and. Willard avenue from Fullerton avenue to Park Drive,together with sewer'lift station,of which sewer cert— ificates shall be issued to the contractor against the property abutting and adjacent thereto which is designated and consisting of all of lots 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,I9, 20,21,22,23,24,25,2e.of block I;lots 1,2,3,4,5 of block 2,all in Auditor r River :13...5i.k P1 t to t e City of Waterloo, aaw Iowa which w certifica'ee es s all be accepted y thegontractor in A full payment Of or said work. The contractor is to be required to give bond to the City of Waterloo,Iowa,in the sum of one—third of the cost of said sewers with approved surety or sureties as a guaranty that he will properly construct and carry out said work and faithfully perform ., all the terms and conditiont of his contract.
