Whereas this expense must be borne, no matter what it may be. The
United States is doing an unexampled thing, to offer all that is hIg
in tre%sure„ in service and in men, in order to make the orid a better
place to live in and neither to ask nor to seek any other reward than
the approval of its own conscience, and the satisfaction that canes from
a duty 77E311 preformed.
No doubt the world will applaud, but it is our own approval, not

Whereas, the Honorable Liayor W. R. Law has reconEended a
subscription of $10,000 be made for this issue in this groat service
of patriotism and
Whareas there Is a surplus of 2.0,000 in the Bond Sinking fund, now
tll'e:cefore be it -resolved that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to issue fro this Sinking fund, Liberty Bonds
in the %Illount of 0.0,000 as part of this Sinking fund and these bonds
to become part of said Sinking fund and to be used for the see purpose
of which this fund was originally created.
