Be it resolved, by the City Council
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that the
• advisability and necessity of construct-
ing main sewers along the following
described streets in the City of Water-
loo, Iowa, is hereby declared and
directed:
On Sycamore street from the North-)
westerly line of Thompson avenue td
the Northwesterly line extended of Lot
Nineteen (19) in Auditor's Bayou Plat
to Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa,
said sewer to be ten (10) inches in
diameter.
On Linwood avenue from a point
106.5 feet north of the manhole 'at
Grant avenue to a point 180 feet North
of the manhole at Grant avenue, with
a manhole to be built at the end, said
sewer to be ten (10) inches in diameter.
Said sewers to be constructed of
standard vitrified sewer pipe or of con-
crete sewer pipe, and said sewer pipe
i to be laid in conformity with existinig
1 grades where already established or to
grades to be established by the city
council of said City. Manholes are to
be placed along said sewer as shown by
the plans and specifications for said
work. All of said work is to be done
in accordance with the plans and speci-
fications therefor' to be prepared 6y
the city engineer of said city and filed
) in the office of the city clerk of said
city.
0 The cost'of constructing said sewers
shall be paid when the work is corn-
plated and accepted by the city council
by sewer certificates issued to the con-
tract or against property abutting on
such sewer in proportion to the num-
) ber of lineal front feet of each parcel
thereof and sewer certificates shall also
be issued to the contractor against the
property abutting and adjacent thereto
which is designated and consisting of
the following described property: to-
wit: Lots Eighteen (18) and Twenty
(20) of Auditor's Bayou Plat to the City
of Waterloo, Black Hawk County,
I Iowa; also the tract of ground de-
scribed as beginning at the Westerly
corner of Block 7, in Virden's Addition
to the City of Waterloo, Iowa, thence
one hundred (100) feet along the :Forth-
westerly side of said Block 7; thence
, Northwesterly on a line parallel with
the Southwesterly line of said Block 7
produced, to the intersection of said
t line with the line of the right-of-way
0 of the Dubuque and Sioux City R. R.;
thence on a curve to the Southeasterly,
1 following the line of said right-of-way
to where said curved line intersects
Sycamore street; thence Southeasterly
along the Northeasterly line of said
Sycamore street to the point of begin-
ning; otherwise known as part of Lots
Nos. 19 and 20 in Auditor Rainbow's
Bayou Plat in the City of Waterloo,
Black Hawk County, Iowa; all of which
certificates herein referred to shall be
accepted by the contractor in full pay-
ment for said work.
The contractor is to be required to
give bond to the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, in the sum of one-third of the
cost of said sewers with approved
surety or sureties as a guaranty that
he will properly construct and carry
out said work and faithfully perform

contract. Said sewers are ordered upon
motion of the city council without pe-
