That the City Clerk be,and he is hereby directed, to advertise
for bids for the work of taking down and removing the steel truss
bridge now located over the Cedar river at the Whitney-ran ouci
Poad en the Test bank thereof and Conger street on the East bank
thereof„ in the City of 7;,terloo„Iowa,and for% the erection and con-
struction of a reinforced concrete arched bridge in the place there ,
all of 3a1d work to be done in accordance with the nlansiand 3,1,e0.2„,
fications therefor,prepared by the City Engineer, filed in the office
of the City Clerk,and accepted and approved by this council by Reso-
lution Vo... .9..4•O on the 24th.,day of rebruary,T9I9, or that said
work be done by alternate plans which this said council will consider
and which plane and specifications are to be submitted with the bids
of various bidders bidding upon said work .

of said council to be held at the council chambers in the City Hall

The work above referred to„ is to be paid for upon coe.pletLon
thereof and acceptance by the city counciI,by bonds issued to the
Contractor by virtue of and in accordance with Sections Nos.758-d
and 758-e of Title V.„Chlapter 6, of the Code of Iowa,I915,which said
bonds shall be accepted by the contractor in full payment for said
work.Said bonds shall be payable in not exceeding tw-enty annual in-
stallments and bear interest at not exceeding five per cent per :ennum,
¶ aid work to be commenced within ten days after written notice so to
do has been given the Contractor by the City Clerk and to be completed
not later than Si-4.,
