STREET LIGHT;
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City
of raterloo, Iowa on its own motion:
That pursuant to a resolution of necessity passed
by this Council on the 27th day of August , 1925, the earscam being
resolution No. 5-476( , that the im,)rovements described in said.
resolution of necessity which is made a part hereof by reference,

East Fourth street from mulberry to ainut Ste.
Be and the same are hereby ordered. constructed,
the .same being dnne upon motion of this Council without petition
of property owners .
Be it further resolved that the City Clerk be
and he is hereby ordered to advertise for proposals or bids for
the construction of the improvements above ordered, the improvements
to be constructed in st.:ict accordance with the plans and specifi-
cations therefore prepared by the City Engineer and approved by
this Council; said work to be commenced on or before the
day of r / -;;,192.3 , and to be completed on or before the
day of/ ' r�y� ,19- 3 Payment to the contractor will be made in
special assessment certificates or street improvement bonds bearing
interest at the rate of 5% per annum to the extent that the cost
of said improvement is assessable by law against the property abut-
ting upon the same ; said bonds or certificates to be issued or de-
livered to the contractor after the work is completed anti accepted ;
any deficiency between the contract priceand the amount of said
bonds or certificates to be paid in warrants drawn on the street im-
provement funds available for the year beginning April Lilt , 19 .
Or the contractor may be paid in cash.

The proposals will be opened by this Council at a
meeting to be held in the Council Chamber on the ; day of
1923 at eight o'clock P.M. and acted upon at that time or such later
time as may be then fixed . All bids must be received by the City
Clerk on or before five o' clock on the '2_ day of ,1923,
accompanied in a separate envelope by a certified check payable to the
order of the Treasurer of said city, drawn on a Waterloo 3ank and in
an amount equal to 10% of the bid. Said °becks are required as se-
curity that the bidder will enter into a contract with said city for
the doing of the work and will furnish the required bond in the amount
and form provided for by the specifications and c onditioned on the
faithful performance of the contract and on the contractor keeping the
work in repair for four years after acceptance thereof and on the con-
tractor paying the laborers and persons furnishing material therefor.
