MAKING Aba'ESS ENTS PAVING CONTRACT NO. 13.
Cedar, West Park, Commercial, West Fourth,
and Lafayette street.
BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATa. 00,
I OWA :
That after full consideration of the schedule of assess-
ments and the accompanying plat showing the assessments proposed
to be made for the cost and expenses of constructing certain im-
provements by reconstruction or resurfacing old brick pavement with
sheet asphalt paving on:
Cedar Street from the northwe t line of Bridge street
to the southeast line of Park avenue.
West Park avenue from the northeast line of Cedar street
to the southwe..: t curb line of Bluff street .
Commercial street from the northcest curb line of Eark
avenue to the northwest line of Third street .
Fourth street from the northeast line of Baltimore
street to the south line of Lingbard avenue .
Lafayette street from the northwest line of East Fourth
street to the northwest line of Park avenue .
Which said plat and schedule were filed in the office
of the City Cl-rk on the 20th day of August , 1923, of the filing of
which notice has been published and posted as required by law and. the
order of this Council; and
That after full consideration, appthserment and appor-
tionment of the special benefits conferred upon the property in
said schedule and plat of the said improvement , this Council finds
that the said property is specially benefit er by the said improve -
ment in the amounts shown in said schedule, and that the said amounts
are in proportion to the special benefits conferred upon the pro-
perty by the said improvement , and re not in excess of subh bene-
fits , and are not in excess of twenty-five per cent of the actual
vat.ue of the lots, parts of lots , and parcels of real estate shown.

Be it further resolved that the said schedule of assess-
ments and the accompanying plat , be and the same are nereby approved ;
and that there oe and hereby is assessed and le':iee as a special tax
and assessment against and upon each of the lots, parts of lots and
oarcels of real estate , and the owner or owners thereof liable to
assessment for the cost ard expenses of the said improvement ( and the
real estate and personal property of the railway and street railway
companies snovn therein) shown in said schedule, the respective sums
e.coresseo in figures set opposite to each of the same, on account of
the cost and expense::-, of the constructi ,n of the said improvement ;
and said assessments a?,.ainst said lots, parts of lots and pprcels of
real estate are hereby declared to be in proportion to the spacial
benefits conferred upon said property by said improvement , and not in
excess thereof , and not in excess of twenty-five per cent of the
actual value of the same .
