IN P;:YL ElT 2OR PAVII TEE VARIOUS STREETS UNDER CONTTIACT NO. 14.
WHEREAS on the 27th day of March, 1923, the Bryant
Paving Company entered into a contract with the City of Yaterloo, Iowa
for the construction of street improvements under Paving Contract No. 14
by paving the following streets, to-wit :
West Fourth Street from the end of the
present paving to the City limits , a width of 24 ft.
Moir Street from the yorth line of Reber Ave.
to the north line of Lot 21, Block 3, Prospect Heights
Addition, 24 feet wide.
Sttuirrit Avenue from the east line of Moir Street
to the west line of Sullivan Street , a width of 24 ft.
Sullivan Street from the north line of Summit
Avenue to the north line of West Second Street , a
width of 24 ft.
Baltimore Street from the south line of Eureka '
Street to a point 140 feet south of the south line of
Mitchell Avenue , a width of 24 feet .
rant Avenue from the southeast line of 1 est Eighth
Street to the northwest line of Ninth Street ; also from
the southeast line of Ninth Street t the west Sorb line
of Hammond Avenue , a width of 24 feet.
Randolph Street from the s utheast line of West
Ran
Ninth street to the north line Gant Avenue , a width
of 24 feet.
Wellingtontreet from the southeast line of ':.Test
Ninth Street to the west line ofRandolph Street , a
width of 30 feet .
Maryland Avenue from the northeast line of Frederick Ave
to the west line of Lovejoy Avenue, a width of 24 feet.
Burton Avenue from the north line of Park Drive to
the end of the present paving near the Waterloo , Cedar falls
& Northern Railway, a width of 24 feet.
Broadway Street from a point 52 ft. south of the south
line of Conger Street to the north line of aiehl Street ,
a width of 7 feet in the center of the street .
Center Street a strip in front of Lot 21, Block 5,
nicker and. Bratnober Land Company Addition between the two
tracks of the W yt'. C . P. & N. R. hh. , a width of 40 feet .
Columbia Street from the south line of 'Tliehl Street
to the north line of Conger Street , a width o 24 feet.

Cutler Street from the north line of Riehl Street
to the weath line of Parker Street , a width of 24 feet.
Kern Street from the east line of Cutler Street
to the west line of Logan Avenue, a width of 24 feet .
Webster Street from the west line of 2ourth Street to
the east line of Logan Avenue, a icth of 24 feet.
Elm Street from the south line of Independence Ave.
to the north line of Cortiandt street ; from the south line of
Cortlandt Street to the north line of _blowier Street ; from the so
south line of Franklin Street to the north line of Lafayette
Street from the south line of Lafayette Street to the north
line of sycamore Street ; from the south line of Sycamore Street
to the north line of the I. C. R. R. frei;-ht line right of way
on Water Street , a width of 30 feet.

to the south line of Glenwood Street , a width of 24 feet .
Glenwood Street from the west line of Cherry Street to
the West right of way line of the I. C. R. h. , a width of 30
feet from the west line of the I. C. H. H. rteht of way to
the west curb line of Steely Street , a width of 24 feet .
Cherry Street from the north line of Independence Avenue
to the north curb line of Glenwood street , a width of 20 feet .
Independence Avenue from the west line of Idaho Street
to the east line of Idaho Street.
WHEBelAS the Bryant Eaving Company, contractor, has fully com-
pleted the said work, in accordance with the terms of its contract , and
the said work has been duly accepted by this Council as fully complying
with all t rms, conditions, stipulations and requirements of said con-
tract and the plans and specifications for the said work; and
WTURZ,AS under the terms of the said contract , and of the
resolution ordering the construction of said improvement , so much of the
cost and expenses of the said improvement as is by law assessable against
property abutting thereon or adjacent thereto ( and aeesainst the real estate
and personal property of railway and street railway companies whose
tracks, station ,frounds or rights of way are located thereon, abut thereon
or are adjacent thereto) is to to be assessed , and bonds are to be issued
in anticipation of the collection of such assessments, and payment is to
be made to the contractor under the terms of his contract to the amount
of such special assessment by issuing and delivering such bonds to him;
and

WATERLOO, I0\:A, that in anticipation of the collection of the special
assessments which have been made against Private property abutting upon or
adjacent to the streets for and on account of the cost and expense of such
improvement ) including railways and street railways liable for the payment
thereof) there be issued by the City of Waterloo , Iowa, Street improvement
Bonds to the amount of w149,579.78. Said bonds shall be issue( under the
provisions of Chapter Eight , Title V of the Code of Iowa, and amendments
thereto, shall bear date of October 22n6 , 1923 , A. and snail be of the
denomination of 4 ,000 each, except there shall be one bond of the amount
of -y579 .78. They shall cc numbered from 122 to 271 inclusive , and shall
be divided in ten series , of which the bond numbered 122 shall constitute
the first series and shall be payable on May 1st , 1925; bonds numbered
from 123 to 150 both inclusive shall constitute the second series and shall
be payable hay let , 1925; bonds numbered from 151 to 165 both inclusive
shall constitute the third series and shall be payable hay 1st , 1926; bonds
numbered from 166 to 180 both inclusive shall constitute the fourth series
and shall be payable hay 1st , 1927; bonds numbered from 181 to 195 both
inclusive shall constitute the fifth series and shall be payable May 1st ,
1928; bonds numbered from 196 to 210 both Inclusive shall constitute the
sixth series and shall be payable hay 1st , 1929 ; bones numbered from 211
to 225 both inclusive shall constitute the seventh series and shall be
payable hay 1st , 1930 ; bonds numbered 226 to 240 both inclusive shall con-
stitute the eighth series and shall be payable hay let , 1931; bonds number-
ed from 241 to 255 both inclusive shall constitute the ninth series and
shall be payable hay 1st , 1932; bonds numbered. from 256 to 271 both inclusive
shall constitute tie tenth series anc snail be payable May 1st , 1933.
Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of 6) per annum,
which interest shall be payable annually, in accordance wtth the terms
of the coupons thereto attacnec , and said bonds shall be payable out of
the proceeds of the special assessment acove referred. to. Both principal
and interest shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer in tae

THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOTA, promises to pay, as hereinafter
stated , to the bearer hereof, on the first day of May, . I . 19 , or
at any time before that date at the option of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
upon giving thirty days' notice to the holder of same as shown oy the

on the presentation and surrender of the interest coupon hereto attached.
Both principal and interest of this bond are payable at the office of the
City Treasurer in the City of Waterloo , Iowa.
This bond is issued by the City of Waterl-)o, Iowa, under and by
virtue of tile provisions of Chapter Eight , Title V of the Code of Iowa,
and amendments thereto , and a certain resolution of the City Council of
said City, duly passed on tie -- day of , A. D. 1923.
This bond is one of a series of bonds of like tenor, date , and
amount , except one bond is for 079 .78, numbered from 122 to 271 inclusive
and is issued for paying the co st C0pa inginon a por ion of West Fourth
Street , Moir Street , Summit Avenue, Sullivan Street, Baltimore Street ,
Grant Avenue, Randolph street, '= ellin=ton street , Maryland Avenue , Burton
Avenue, Broadway Street , Center Street , Columbia Street, Cutler street,
Kern Street , Webster Street , Elm Street , Mohawk Street , Glenwood Street ,
Cherry Street , and Independence Avenue, as described in said resolution
in s= id City, which cost and expense are payable by assessment of all lots
and parcels of land according to area so as to include one-half of the
privately owned property between the street improved and the next street ,
whether such privately owned property abuts upon said street or not , but in
no case snail priavately owned property situated more than three hundred
feet from the street so improved be so assessed; and it is made by law a
lien against all of said abutting and aajacent property as hereinbefore
mentioned and payable in ten annual installments with interest on all de-
ferred payments at the rate of six per cent ( 60) per annum, and this bond

is payable only out e ' the fund created by special assessment .against
said property, the proceeds of which can be used for no other purpose.

they are hereby instructed to cause such bonds to be prepared any when so
prepared to execute said bonds ; and that the City Clerk be and he is
hereby instructed to register the said bonds in a book to be kept for the
purpose, end to then deliver the same to the City Treasurer, who shall
also register the same in a book to be kept by him for that purpose, and
deliver the bonds to the Bryant Paving Company or its assigns.
