The City of Jatorloo, in the County of Black Hawk, and State of Iowa, for va ue re-
ceived, promises to pay to bearer One Thousand Dollars, lawful money of the United States
of America, on the First day of November, 10... , with interest on said sum from the date
hereof until paid, at the rate of Five per centum per annum, payable Nay 1st, 1924, and
semi-annually thereafter on the First days of Nay and November in each year, on present&
tLon and surrender of the interest coupons hereto attached; both princip.al and interest

This bond is issued by the City of 7aterloo, pursuant to the provisions of Section
912, Chapter 12, Title V of the Code of Iowa, as now mended, and in conformity to a roso-
lution (a true and complete copy whereof is printed on the back of this bond) of the Coonca
of said City duly passod; and is issued in anticipation of the collection, and is payable
only out of improvement fund taxes levied pursuant to Section 830 of the Code of Iowa and
Sub-division 2 of Section 394 of the Supplemental Supplonont to the Code of Iowa, 1915, on
all property subject to taxation within the corporate limits of said City, in an amount
sufficient to pay principal and interest of the issue of bonds, of whici, this bond is
one, and in addition to all other taxes authorized by law, which taxes are hereby olodged
for the payment of said bonds.
And it is hereby Certified and Recited: That all acts, conditions and things required
by law and the constitution of the State of Iowa, to be done, precedent to and in the issue
of this bond, have boon properly done, haplioned and been performed in regular and due form
as required by law, and that the total indebtedoess of said City, including thisbond, does
not exceed the Constitutional or Statutory limitations.
In Testimony fhoreof, said City by its Council, has caused this bond to be signed by
its Mayor and attested by its Clerk, with the Seal of said City
attached, as of the iirst day of December, 1,923.

This bond duly and properly registered in my office as of tie first day of December,
1923.

ection 3. That a true and complete copy of this resolution be printed on the back
of each of said bonds, and that this reeoletion shall constitute a contract between said
City and the holders of said bonds ; that when said bonds have been executed as aforesaid,
they shall be delivered to the Treaourer of said City, who shall register the same in a
book provided for the purpose, and shall thereupon deliver said bends to the purchasers
thereof, viz., THE WHIM-PHILLIPS COUPANY, Davenport, Cora, at the per value of said bonds,
with accrued interest thereon.
Section 4. That said bonds or the proceeds thereof be used only for the purpose set
out in Section 830 of the Code of Iowa, as amended, and for no other purpose whatsoever.
Section 5. That a certified copy of this resolution be filed with the County Auditor
of the County of Black Hawk, and that said Auditor be aad he is hereby instructed in and
for each of the years 1923 to 1932 inclusive, to levy and assess the tax hereby authorized
in Section 1 of this resolution and levied upon all the taxable property in the corporate
limits of said City of iaterloo, in like manner as other taxes are levied and assessed, and
that such taxes s, levied in and for each of the years aforesaid, be collected in like
so
manner as other taxes of said City are collected, and when collected, be used far the purpo
of paying principal and interest on said bonds issued in anticipation of said tax and
for no other purpose whatsoever; and it is hereby determined that the amounts necessary
to be appropriated for each of the years 1924 to 1934, both years included, for the pur-
pose of paying interest and the principal of said bonds , as the same respectively mature,
are as follows:
For the year 1924, 1_100 for interest.
For the year 1925, 2200 for interest and principal.
