�:Thereas , TTr. Geo. 7 . LichtTT h=zs expresses to this Council
his desire to secure a five ( 5 ) foot easement from ;'.e City on the
Southeasterly side of t` knowns t., k; - k

for the purpose of constructing; fire escapes -nc safety devices
necessary to convert said building into suitable apartment building,
therefor, be it
FT `OLVED, by the Council of the city of 77a.terloo , Iowa ,
that tree sale of a perpetual easement to Jeo. E. Iicht„T, for the
sum of 2ifteen hundred ( 1500) Dollars ( and for the purpose as
herein described ) on a certain strip of ground five ( 5) feet in
width on the Southeasterly side of the building commonly known as
the 7ebberking Block, and extending the length of said -,building,
said strip of ground being legally described as the Northwest five
( 5 ) feet of Lot one (1 ) and the Northwest five ( 5) feet of the
Northeasterly forty ( 40) feet of Lot four (4) in Block twenty-eight
( 28) in the Original Plat of East jaterloo , Iowa. be and the same

authorized to execu eA ne same , n condi ,ion and providing that
the said Geo . E. J ichty shall maintain said ,)ro_pert? in Proper and
sightly condition, ancl shall without cost to the City make such
rearrangement of the grounds and reconstruction of the lley--way
as may be necessary or recuired by reason of the -e �.sement.
