WAS DONE UNDER ONE CERTAIN CONTRACT WITH A. G. PICKEN, DATED
JULY 25th, 1922.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATER1
ZOO, IOWA:
.That the Mayor and City Clerk of 'Jaterloo , Iowa, be and
they are hereby authorized and directed to issue, execute a n d
del, ver Street Improvement Bonds -under the provisions of Chap-
ter 8, Title V, of the Code of Iowa, and acts amendatory and
surplement :l thereto, for the aggregate sum of 42499,44 , to pay
the cost of the construction of sidewalks which has already peen
assessed, according to law, against the privately owned property
abutting on certain parts of the following streets in the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, viz :
On the Southeasterly side of Fifth Street , from Locust
Street to Western Avenue; on the Northeasterly side of Western
Avenue from West Fifth Street to the Alley between the High
School building and the Athletic field; on the Easterly side
of Western .Avenuetffcm said alley to Pleasant Street ; on the
Northerly side of Pleasant Street from Western Avenue to v.est
Sixth Street ; on the Westerly side of West Sixth Street from
Pleasant Street to Locust Street ; on the Southwesterly side
of Locust street from West Sixth street to West :Fifth Street,
said sidewalks having been built ender ore certain contract
between the City of Waterloo , Iowa, and A. G. Picken, dated
the 25th day of July, 1922.
Said bonds shall be issued i�.:., nine series, and i _ denom-
inations and playable as follows :

Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of six ( 6)
percent per annum, payable annually, from the 25th day of
September, 1922, and said uonds shall be registered as by law
provided, and delivered to the said A. G. Picken, for and in
part payment of the work done under said contract above stated
and described .
The City of Waterloo assumes no other obligation in
regard to the apyment of said bonds, except that sufficient
valid assessments have been made against private property
along the line of said improvements as provided by law, and
to hold the proceeds from such assessments for the payment
of said bonds and the interest thereon, and to apply the money
received from said assessments in payment of said bonds and
interest and for no other purpose until said bonds and the
interest thereon are fully paid.
Said bonds shall be in form substantially as shown by
Section 843 of the Code of Iowa, be dated September 25, 1922,
payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, and said bonds, coupons and certificate of
registration shall be in substantially the following form:

SERIES
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, ill the State of Iowa, promises
to pay, as hereinafter stated, to the tearer hereof, on t_e
first day of , the sum of Dollars, with
interest thereon at the rate of six ( 6) per cent per annum,
payable annually, on the presentation and surrender of the
interest coupons hereto attached. Both principal and inter-
est of this oond are pays le at the office of the Cite- treasur-
er in Waterloo , Iowa.
This bond is issued by t lie City of Waterloo unde r and by
virtue of Chapter Eight , of Title Five of the Code of Iowa,
and the Resolution of the City Council of said City , duly
passed on the 22nd day of December, 1922.
This bond is one of a series' of like tenor, date and
amount , excepting one bond which is for the sum of 099 .44,
numbered from One ( 1) to Twnety-five ( 25) , both inclusive ,
and is issued for the purpose of defraying part of the cost
of the constructing sidewalks on West Fifth, Locust , 'Jest
Sixth Streets, Western ��,venue and. Pleasant Street , as describ-
ed in Resolution No. 5232, in said city, which cost is pay-
able by the assessable property along said improvements , as
provided by law, and is rre,de by law and resolution of said
City Council a lien on all said property by special assess-
ments payable in ten annual instalments, with interest on all
deferred payments from September 25th, 1922, at the rate of
six ( 6) percent per annum, and this bond is payable only out
of the street improvement fund created by the collection of
said special tax, and said fund can be used for no other pur-
pose. The right is reserved said City to pay this bond
before maturity out of said special fund upon giving thirty
day's notice by mail to the owner in whose name this bond is
registered of its intention so to do.

the issuing of this series of bonds, have been done, happened
and performed, in regular and due form as required by said.

of said city of Waterloo, is hereby irrevocably pledged.
IN TESTIMONY `-R- REOF, the City of Wat erlco by its City
Council, has caused this bond to be signed by its Mayor and
countersigned by the City Clerk, with the seal of #,rr said City
affixed, and this bond to he dated as of the '25th day of
September, 1922.

It is hereby made the duty of the Treasurer of the City
of Waterloo to apply the funds received by him from said
special assessments in payment of the bonds authorized by
this resolution, and issued by virtue hereof, and the payment
of interest thereon until said bonds and. Interest are paid in
full.
