Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of six 6) percent per €nnum payable annually, f :o ni the 13th day of November 1®22, and said bonds shall be registered as by law provided , and delivered to the said Wm. tletts , for and in L ,rtpayment of the work done under said contract above stated and described . The City of Waterloo assumes no other obligation in regard to the payment of said bonds , except t hat suf fi c mint valid assessments have been Cade against private property along the line of said improvements as provided by law, and to hold the pro- ceeds from such assessments for the payment of said bonds and the interest thereon, anc to apply the mone`T received from said assess- ments in payment of said bonds and interest and for no other purpose until said bonds and the interest thereon are fully paid. Said bonds shall be in form substantially as shown by ectio 843 of the Code of Iowa, be dated November 13th,, 1922, paya- ble at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of V.aterloo , Iowa, and said' bonds, cou ons and certificate of r-, istratio � 11 be in substantially the following form: . (Form of Bond ) No.. STATE OF IOWA CITY OF v.ILTERLOO STREET IMPROVEMENT BOLD SER r,S w page # 4 Resolution # 5322 . SERIES THE CITY OF WATERLOO, in the State of Iowa, promises to pay, as hereinafter stated, to the bearer hereof, on the first day of , the sum of Dollars , with interest th e re o n.,a t the rate of six ( 6) -per cent per a_nnum, payable annually, on the presentation and surrender of the interest eouons hereto attached . Both principal and interest of this bond are payable at the office of the City Treasurer in Waterloo, Iowa. This bond is issued by the City of Waterloo under and by virtue of Chapter Eight , of Title Five of the Code of Iowa, and the Resolution of the City Council of said City, duly passed on the 22nd day of December , 1922. This bond is one of a series of bonds of like tenor, date and amount, excepting one bod which is for the sum of $139.07, numbered from One ( 1) to Nineteen ( 19) both inclusive , and is issued for the purpose of defraying part of the cost of constructing side- walks on Bayard Street , Western Avenue, West 8th, West llth and Washington Streets, and Williston Avenue, and various other streets located in the Second Ward as described in ;Resolution 5239, in said city, which cost is payable by the assessable propert provements, as provided by law, and is made by law and resolution of said City Council a lien on all said property by special ass .ss- ments payable in ten annual instalments, with interest on all de- ferred payments from liavembef 13th, 1922 , at the rate of six .( 6) percent per annum, and this bond is payable only out of the street improvement fund created by the collection of said special tax, and said fund can be used for no other purpose. The right is reserved by said City to pay this bond before maturity out of said special fund upon giving thirty day' s notice by mail to the owner in whose name this oond is registered of its intention so to do . And it is hereby certified and recite( that all the acts , conditions and things required to be done , precedent to and in the issuing of this series of bonds, have been done, happened and per- formed , in regular and due form as required by said law and resolu- tion; and for the assessment , collection and payment hereon of 59)01' Page 5 Resolution t 5322 said special tax the full faith and diligence of said city of Waterloo , is nereby irrevocably pledged . IN TES>TIMMMONY WHEREOF, the City of Waterloo , by its City Council, has caused this bond to be signed by its mayor and countersigned by the City Clerk, with the seal of said City affixed , and this bond to be dated as of the 13th day of November, 1922. ma yo r Attest : City Clerk (Form of Coupon) Coupon No. Sidewalk Contract 'To . It is hereby made the duty of the Treasurer of the City of Waterloo to apply the funds received by him from said special assess- ments in payment of the bonds authorized by this resolution, and issued by virtue hereof, and the payment of interest thereon until said bonds and interest are raid in full .
