FAIL 403.4.1 -First emergency The first emergency evacuation drill of each school year shall be conducted within 10
evacuation drill. days of the beginning of classes.
Inspector:BROCK WELIVER-Comments:Monthly fire drill log should be maintained
and kept on the premises.
FAIL 603.5-Relocatable power Multiplug adapters,such as cube adapters,unfused plug strips or any other device
taps and current not complying with NFPA 70 shall be prohibited.The construction and use of current
taps.Multiplug adapters. taps and relocatable taps shall be in accordance with NFPA 70 and this code.
Inspector:BROCK WELIVER-Comments: Daisy chained power taps were found during
the inspection and unplugged during the inspection.
FAIL 704.1 -Maintaining Where required when the building was originally constructed, materials and systems
protection. used to protect joints and voids in the following locations shall be maintained.The
materials and systems shall be securely attached to or bonded to the adjacent
construction,without openings visible through the construction. 1.joints in or
between fire-resistance-rated walls,floors or floor/ceiling assemblies and roof or
roof/ceiling assemblies.2.Joints in smoke barriers.3.Voids at the intersection of a
horizontal floor assembly and an exterior curtain wall.4.Voids at the intersection of a
horizontal smoke barrier and an exterior curtain wall.5.Voids at the intersection of a
nonfire-resistance-rated floor assembly and an exterior curtain wall.6.Voids at the
intersection of a vertical fire barrier and an exterior curtain wall.7.Voids at the
intersection of a vertical fire barrier and a nonfire-resistance-rated roof assembly.
Unprotected joints and voids do not need to be protected where such joints and
voids were not required to be protected when the building was originally
constructed.Where the system design number is known,the system shall be
inspected to the listing criteria and manufacturer's installation instructions.

FAIL 705.2.4-Door operation. Swinging fire doors shall close from the full-open position and latch automatically.
Inspector:BROCK WELIVER-Comments: Doors in the main hallway were propped
open using foot wedges and door stops.This building is not equipped with a fire
alarm or fire sprinkler system.These doors serve as a primary fire protection feature
of the building.These doors either need to be kept closed or electronic hold open
devices should be installed.
FAIL 907.2.11 -Single-and Listed single-and multiple-station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
multiple-station smoke installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.7 and NFPA 72.

some of these appear to be older devices. Manufacturers'recommendations should
be followed in the replacement of these devices-many such devices recommend being
replaced every 10 years

and its inspectors for compliance.
