1 2015 IFC General Requirements Section 315 General Storage
315.3.1 Ceiling clearance. Storage shall be maintained 2 feet or
more below the ceiling in nonsprinklered areas of buildings or not
less than 18 inches below sprinkler head deflectors in sprinklered
areas of buildings.
*Storage in the maintenance room and housekeeping room by
room 102 was found to be next to the ceiling.
*Corrective action, lower storage in all areas of the building to
below 2 feet below the ceiling.

605.4 Multiplug adapters. Multiplug adapters, such as cube
adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying

3 2015 IFC Building Services and Systems Section 605 Electrical
Equipment, Wiring and Hazards
605.4.1 Power tap design. Relocatable power taps shall be of the
polarized or grounded type, equipped with overcurrent protection,
and shall be listed in accordance with UL 1363.
*Ensure that power taps are either resting securely on the floor or
mounted securely, not to be left hanging loosely, suspended in air
4 2015 IFC Fire and Smoke Protection Features Section 703 Fire-
Resistance-Rated Construction
703.2.3 Door operation. Swinging fire doors shall close from the
full-open position and latch automatically.The door closer shall
exert enough force to close and latch the door from any partially
open position.
*During inspection,doors were found to not fully shut and latch
properly, rooms 221,210, 208, 205, 124, 123

*Corrective action,ensure that all doors in the building are
adjusted/function properly
5 2015 IFC Fire Protection Systems Section 901 General
901.6 Inspection,testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm,
and extinguishing systems, mechanical smoke exhaust systems,
and smoke and heat vents shall be maintained in an operative
condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where
defective. Nonrequired fire protection systems and equipment shall
be inspected,tested and maintained or removed.
*Smoke detectors were found to be not in working condition when
tested, rooms 223,221, 204 stairway by 202, 123
*Corrective action,ensure that all smoke detectors in the building
are good working condition at all times
**Provide current annual inspection report for sprinkler system,
sprinkler heads in the laundry shoot.
***Provide current annual report for Fire Alarm
6 2015 IFC Means of Egress Section 1008 Means of Egress
Illumination
1008.2 Illumination required.The means of egress serving a room
or space shall be illuminated at all times that the room or space is
occupied.

in the pool room

7 2015 IFC Means of.Egress Section 1013 Exit Signs
1013.6.3 Power source. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times.
To ensure continued illumination for a duration of not less than 90
minutes in case of primary power loss,the sign illumination means
shall be connected to an emergency power system provided from
storage batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator.The
installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance
with Section 604.
*Exit lights were found to be out when tested, both exit lights in the
pool room,2 exit lights by room 114.
