Components or portions thereof determined to be unsafe shall be repaired or replaced to conform to that code under which the building was constructed, remodeled, altered or this chapter, as deemed appropriate by the fire code official. 2015 IFC Fire Protection Systems Section 901 901.4 Installation. Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation standards for that system. Required systems shall be extended, altered or augmented as necessary to maintain and continue protection where the building is altered, remodeled or added to.Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards. *The annual fire sprinkler inspection performed on your system notated some deficiencies. -Corrective action, provide documentation that repair work has been performed by a licensed sprinkler contractor to correct these deficiencies. *Ceiling tiles in the drop ceiling in the IT room were found to be missing. Ceiling tiles/systems are components of fire detection/suppression systems. Missing tiles allow for smoke and heat to bypass the sprinkler head or detector and escape into other areas of the building, rendering the sprinkler or detector ineffective. -Corrective action, replace missing ceiling tiles in IT room, or have a licensed/certified sprinkler contractor properly reconfigure the sprinkler system in this area for proper coverage . 2 2015 IFC Means of Egress Section 1013 1013.6.3 Power source. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times.
