Can be performed by maintenance/staff. 6 Provide documentation of locations and testing of all emergency egress and exit lighting with all deficiencies corrected with signature and date. 7 2015 IFC Fire and Smoke Protection Features Section 703 Fire-resistance-rated construction 703.1 Maintenance The required fire resistance rating o the fire-resistance- rated construction, including but not limited to,walls,fire- stops, shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers,floors, fire-resistant joint systems, shall be maintained., Such elements shall be visually inspection by the owner annually and properly repaired, restored or replace where damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. Records of inspections and repairs shall be maintained. Where concealed, such elements shall not be required to be visually inspected by the owner unless the concealed space is accessible by the removal or movement a panel, access door, ceiling tile or similar movable entry to the space. Opening made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit,wires, ducts,air transfer openings and holes mad for any reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke and fire. Openings through fire-resistance-rated assemblies shall be protected by self-or automatic- closing doors of approved construction meeting the fire protection requirements for the assembly. A. Patch all openings in corridor ceilings with an approved listed system providing a 1 hour fire protection rating. B. Provide an approved 1 hour fire protection system for all penetrations around new wires stubbed into all rooms above ceilings that have been opened. C. Provide an approved 1 hour fire protection system for all vertical penetrations in all chases that are opened for construction. Provide inspector opportunity to verify all penetrations have been properly sealed before covering openings in accordance with 2015 IFC Section 106.3 D. Provide an approved 1 hour fire protection system for all chase walls and ceilings in ail rooms. E. Replace all missing ceiling systems and ceiling tile in all areas including the entire basement.
