Changes shall not be made in the use or occupancy of any structure that would place the structure in a different division of the same group or occupancy or in a different group of occupancies, unless such structure is made to comply with requirements of this code and the International Building code. Please correct the following violations: Note: Due to change of use within the building (see IFC 2015 section 102.3) , a technical review is required for fire sprinkler/fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and means of egress and exiting by an Iowa Certified Architect and submitted to the City of Waterloo Building Official for review. 2 609.3.3.1 Provide current semi-annual kitchen hood exhaust system cleaning/inspection report with all deficiencies corrected. 3 904.11.6. Provide current semi-annual kitchen hood fire suppression system 2 inspection/testing with all deficiencies corrected by a contractor certified to work in the State of Iowa 4 2015 IFC Means of Egress Section 1008 Means of Egress Illumination 1008.2 Illumination required. The means of egress serving a room or space shall be illuminated at all times that the room or space is occupied. Repair egress/exit light by main door on grocery side. 5 2015 IFC Fire Protection Systems Section 906 Portable Fire Extinguishers 906.5 Conspicuous location. Portable fire extinguishers shall be located in conspicuous locations where they will be readily accessible and immediately available for use.These locations shall be along normal paths of travel, unless the fire code official determines that the hazard posed indicates the need for placement away from normal paths of travel. Install currently serviced 2A-10BC fire extinguishers in required areas in front and back of store. 6 2015 IFC Building Services and Systems Section 605 Electrical Equipment,Wiring and Hazards 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official. Electrical wiring, devices,appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. Install missing knock-out plugs in junction boxes by ceiling to conceal exposed wiring. 7 2015 IFC Means of Egress Section 1008 Means of Egress Illumination 1008.2 Illumination required.The means of egress serving a room or space shall be illuminated at all times that the room or space is occupied. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors,or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. A.wash machine must plug directly into wall outlet.
