Relocatable power tap cords shall not extend through walls, ceilings,floors, under doors or floor coverings, or be subject to environmental or physical damage. *Power tap was found suspended by it cord during inspection. Power tap was located in the Salon Room *Corrective action, place power tap securely on the floor or similar horizontal surface or mount the power tap to a wall or similar secure vertical surface. 3 2015 IFC Building Services and Systems Section 605 Electrical Equipment,Wiring and Hazards 605.7 Appliances. Electrical appliances and fixtures shall be tested and listed in published reports of inspected electrical equipment by an approved agency and installed and maintained in accordance with all instructions included as part of such listing. *Freezer, ice cream freezer, in the kitchen area was found to be plugged into a power tap *Larger appliances like refrigerator,freezers, microwaves are to be plugged directly into outlets *Corrective action, plug freezer directly into an approved outlet 4 2015 IFC Building Services and Systems Section 605 Electrical Equipment,Wiring and Hazards 605.10.1 Listed and labeled. Ref# CODE Violation &Location Corrected 5 2015 IFC Fire and Smoke Protection Features Section 703 Fire- Resistance-Rated Construction 703.2.3 Door operation. Swinging fire doors shall close from the full-open position and latch automatically. The door closer shall exert enough force to close and latch the door from any partially open position. • *Fire doors were found to not fully close and latch when inspected, these doors were the elevator fire doors on floors 3 through 11 *Corrective action, adjust doors so that they fully close and latch 6 2015 IFC Fire Protection Systems Section 901 General 901.4 Installation. Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation standards for that system. Required systems shall be extended,altered or augmented as necessary to maintain and continue protection where the building is altered, remodeled or added to.Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards. *Fire door on 1st floor west stairway was missing a portion of its smoke seal *Corrective action, repair/replace smoke seal *Ceiling in the pool mechanical room had holes in the drywall around the sprinkler deflector head *Corrective action, repair/replace drywall 7 2015 lFC Means of Egress Section 1010 Doors, Gates and Turnstiles 1010.1.3 Door opening force. The force for pushing or pulling open interior swinging egress doors, other than fire doors, shall not exceed 5 pounds(22 N).These forces do not apply to the force required to retract latch bolts or disengage other devices that hold the door in a closed position. For other swinging doors, as well as sliding and folding doors,the door latch shall release when subjected to a 15-pound(67 N)force.The door shall be set in motion when subjected to a 30-pound (133 N)force. The door shall swing to a full-open position when subjected to a 15-pound(67 N) force. *Marked Exit door in the small/private dining room was unable to be opened when tested. *Corrective action, repair/replace door so that it is able to be used in case of emergency 8 2015 IFC Means of Egress Section 1031 Maintenance of the Means of Egress 1031.2 Reliability. Required exit accesses,exits and exit discharges shall be continuously maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency where the building area served by the means of egress is occupied.An exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a means of egress. *Marked Exit door in the main dining room area was found to have a table and chairs in front of it. *Corrective action, ensure that a Egress path approximately the same size/width of the door or larger is maintained at all times to allow full and instant use of the Exit door in case of emergency. Comments: Inspection on 11-13-2018 was for the common areas of the building, offices, corridors, mechanical rooms,and kitchen areas. Occupant rooms were not inspected during this inspection.
