Bars,grilles,grates or similar devices are allowed to be placed over emergency escape and rescue openings provided the minimum net clear opening size complies with the code that was in effect at the time of construction and such devices shall be releasable or removable from the inside without the use of a key,tool or force greater than that which is required for normal operation of the emergency escape and rescue opening. FAIL R5-Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair,structurally sound and sanitary state?(IPMC 304) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON-Comments: Need screens on windows and broken windows repaired.Windows need latches on windows that will secure windows. FAIL R6- Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good repair,structurally sound,and in a sanitary condition?(IPMC 305) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON-Comments: Broken windows,doors not fitting in openings,cracks in ceilings and walls. Peeling and abraded paint.Wall above back door,wall at top of stairs,stove not working,refrigerator compressor making noise, handrails missing to basement and upstairs. Bats in house. Basement windows missing.Tub surround has door/wood not attached to opening. GENERAL NOTES BARRY STRATTON-10/13/2022 @ 12:02 302.5 Rodent harborage.Structures and exterior property shall be kept free from rodent harborage and infestation.Where rodents are found,they shall be promptly exterminated by approved processes that will not be injurious to human health.After pest elimination, proper precautions shall be taken to eliminate rodent harborage and prevent reinfestation. Exterior surfaces,including but not limited to,doors,door and window frames,cornices, porches,trim, balconies, decks and fences,shall be maintained in good condition. Exterior wood surfaces, other than decay-resistant woods,shall be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment. Peeling,flaking and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces repainted. Siding and masonry joints,as well as those between the building envelope and the perimeter of windows,doors and skylights,shall be maintained weather resistant and water tight. Metal surfaces subject to rust or corrosion shall be coated to inhibit such rust and corrosion,and surfaces with rust or corrosion shall be stabilized and coated to inhibit future rust and corrosion. Foundation walls shall be maintained plumb and free from open cracks and breaks and shall be kept in such condition so as to prevent the entry of rodents and other pests.
