RESOLUTION NO. 2026-385
RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
AUGUST 3, 2026, FOR ADOPTING THE HAZARD
MITIGATION PLAN 2026 UPDATE, AND INSTRUCT THE
CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, participates in hazard mitigation planning to
identify risks, reduce losses, improve community resilience from natural and other hazards; and
WHEREAS, a Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026 Update has been prepared for consideration
by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set a date for public hearing to receive public
comment on the proposed adoption of the Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026 Update; and
WHEREAS, before proceeding with the adoption of the Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026
Update, it is necessary to set a date for public hearing and direct the City Clerk to publish notice
as required by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. A public hearing be set for August 3, 2026, to receive public comments on the
proposed adoption of the Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026 Update.
by law.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of July 2026.
