STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 1010.1.9.4-Bolt locks Manually operated flush bolts or surface bolts are not permitted. Exceptions: 1.On
doors not required for egress in individual dwelling units or sleeping units.2.Where
a pair of doors serves a storage or equipment room, manually operated edge-or
surface-mounted bolts are permitted on the inactive leaf.3.Where a pair of doors
serves an occupant load of less than 50 persons in a Group B,F or S occupancy,
manually operated edge-or surface-mounted bolts are permitted on the inactive
leaf.The inactive leaf shall not contain doorknobs, panic bars or similar operating
hardware.4.Where a pair of doors serves a Group B, F or S occupancy,manually
operated edge-or surface-mounted bolts are permitted on the inactive leaf provided
such inactive leaf is not needed to meet egress capacity requirements and the
building is equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system in accordance
with Section 903.3.1.1.The inactive leaf shall not contain doorknobs,panic bars or
similar operating hardware.5.Where a pair of doors serves patient care rooms in
Group 1-2 occupancies,self-latching edge-or surface-mounted bolts are permitted on

Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:remove double lock and keyed lock from rear exit
door.
FAIL 102.3-Change of use or Changes shall not be made in the use or occupancy of any structure that would place
occupancy the structure in a different division of the same group or occupancy or in a different
group of occupancies,unless such structure is made to comply with the
requirements of this code and the International Building Code.Subject to the
approval of the fire code official,the use or occupancy of an existing structure shall
be allowed to be changed and the structure is allowed to be occupied for purposes in
other groups without conforming to all of the requirements of this code and the
International Building Code for those groups, provided the new or proposed use is
less hazardous,based on life and fire risk,than the existing use.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments: Building is now being used as a mercantile
occupancy. Building has been altered with improper materials and does not contain
proper life safety protections for new use. Building is not allowed to open to public at
present time.

FAIL 102.4-Application of building The design and construction of new structures shall comply with the International
code Building Code,and any alterations,additions,changes in use or changes in
structures required by this code,which are within the scope of the International
Building Code,shall be made in accordance therewith.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments: Improper wood construction, partition walls,exit
doors,overhead doors,and electrical work has been completed with out permits and
inspections.Obtain review by a professional and obtain proper permits and
inspections.All improper work must be removed.
FAIL 1031.2-Reliability Required exit accesses,exits and exit discharges shall be continuously maintained
free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other
emergency where the building area served by the means of egress is occupied.An
exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a
means of egress.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:remove all obstructions from exit path.
FAIL 1031.3-Obstructions A means of egress shall be free from obstructions that would prevent its use,
including the accumulation of snow and ice.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:rear exit must have landing.
FAIL 315.3-Storage in buildings Storage of materials in buildings shall be orderly and stacks shall be stable.Storage
of combustible materials shall be separated from heaters or heating devices by
distance or shielding so that ignition cannot occur.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:all storage must be in orderly stacks.remove
materials from exit path.
FAIL 315.3.2-Means of egress Combustible materials shall not be stored in exits or enclosures for stairways and
ramps.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:remove storage from exit access path and exit
discharge path.
FAIL 5.2.1 -Annual sprinkler Sprinklers shall be inspected at least annually by licensed contractor
system inspection
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments: provide annual fire sprinkler inspection report
with all deficiencies corrected. Report from continental dated 9/14/20 lists
deficiencies.provide corrections.Contractor must upload online to the compliance
engine.

FAIL 506.1 -Where required Where access to or within a structure or an area is restricted because of secured
openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire-fighting
purposes,the fire code official is authorized to require a key box to be installed in an
approved location.The key box shall be of an approved type listed in accordance with
UL 1037,and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as required by the fire code
official.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments: remove old access box and install knox-box in it's
place for fire fighter access.
FAIL 604.2.12-Means of egress Emergency power shall be provided for means of egress illumination in accordance
illumination with Sections 1008.3 and 1104.5.1.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:provide required egress/exit lighting as required
for proper exiting determined by review by professional.
FAIL 604.2.5-Exit signs Emergency power shall be provided for exit signs as required in Section 1013.6.3.The
system shall be capable of powering the required load for a duration of not less than
90 minutes.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:provide exit signs for exit path as determined by
review professional for a mercantile area.
FAIL 605.1 -Abatement of Identified electrical hazards shall be abated.Identified hazardous electrical conditions
electrical hazards in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring,devices,appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments:Remove electrical cord extending through wall to
power permanent outlets in check out desk.Install permanent power with proper
permits and inspections.
FAIL 605.10.4-Prohibited areas Portable,electric space heaters shall not be operated within 3 feet(914 mm)of any
combustible materials. Portable,electric space heaters shall be operated only in
locations for which they are listed.

FAIL 605.4.3-Installation Relocatable power tap cords shall not extend through walls,ceilings,floors,under
doors or floor coverings,or be subject to environmental or physical damage.

FAIL 605.5-Extension cords Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring.
Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures,extended
through walls,ceilings or floors,or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such
cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall
be used only with portable appliances.
Inspector:JEFF SIEBEL-Comments: Immediately remove all extension cords to front
counter,to all chargers for boats and rv's in back storage area.
FAIL 703.1 -Maintenance The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction,including,
but not limited to,walls,firestops,shaft enclosures,partitions,smoke barriers,
floors,fire-resistive coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to
structural members and fire-resistant joint systems,shall be maintained.Such
elements shall be visually inspected by the owner annually and properly repaired,
restored or replaced where damaged,altered, breached or penetrated. Records of
inspections and repairs shall be maintained.Where concealed,such elements shall
not be required to be visually inspected by the owner unless the concealed space is
accessible by the removal or movement of a panel,access door,ceiling tile or similar
movable entry to the space.Openings made therein for the passage of pipes,
electrical conduit,wires,ducts,air transfer openings and holes made for any reason
shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke
and fire.Openings through fire-resistance-rated assemblies shall be protected by
self-or automatic-closing doors of approved construction meeting the fire protection
requirements for the assembly.

FAIL 906.5-Conspicuous location Portable fire extinguishers shall be located in conspicuous locations where they will
be readily accessible and immediately available for use.These locations shall be
along normal paths of travel,unless the fire code official determines that the hazard
posed indicates the need for placement away from normal paths of travel.

FAIL 906.6-Unobstructed and Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms
unobscured or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be
provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers.
