RESOLUTION NO. 2026-424
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HAZARD MITIGATION
PLAN 2026 UPDATE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo recognizes the importance of reducing the risk of loss
of life and property damage from natural and other hazards; and
WHEREAS, the Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026 Update has been prepared to identify
hazards, assess risks, and establish mitigation strategies intended to protect the community; and
WHEREAS, adoption of the Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026 Update supports the City's
eligibility for certain state and federal hazard mitigation assistance programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026 Update and
finds its adoption to be in the best interests of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Hazard Mitigation Plan 2026 Update is hereby approved and adopted.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3ra day of August 2026.
