Preformed insulated metal wall panel system, with related flashings and accessory components. 1.02 INFORMATIONAL SUBMITTALS A. Product Data. B. Samples of colors for selection. 1.03 ACTION SUBMITTALS A. Shop Drawings indicating dimensions, panel layout, construction details, method of anchorage, and installation. PART2 PRODUCTS 2.01 DESIGN REQUIREMENTS A. Wall loads: 1. Deflection limitations of completed wall panel installation: No greater than L/180 when subjected to loads specified. 2. Allowable steel bending stress: 20,000 psi (138 mPa)when subjected to loads specified. B. Design fasteners holding together various elements of building panels and holding panel to structure to withstand design load requirements set forth in this Section with factor of safety of at least 2, unless otherwise indicated. C. When subject to seasonal temperature ranges, system shall accommodate movement of components without buckling, failure of joint seals, undue stress on fasteners, or other detrimental effects. D. System shall accommodate tolerances of structure. 2.02 MATERIALS A. Sealants and gaskets: Manufacturer's standard type suitable for use with installation of metal panel system; nonstaining. B. Fasteners: No power-activated type fasteners, either temporary or permanent, allowed. Fasteners for various panel elements shall be as follows, unless otherwise indicated. 1. Exterior flashings and trim: Either stainless steel sheet metal screws, No. 14 x 3/4" (19 mm), or stainless steel pop-rivets, 1/8" (3 mm) diameter, spaced not more than 12"(300 mrn) oc. 2. Foam-filled panels: Stainless steel self-tapping screws. C. Metal closures: Same material, finish, and color as adjacent metal panels. D. Touch-up paint: As recommended by panel manufacturer. 2.03 FABRICATION A. Fabricate wall panels, closures, (lashings, and related trim pieces in accordance with manufacturer's standard fabrication methods. B. Flashings and trim shall be of same materials, thickness, and finish as face sheets. COMPOSITE PANELS 23209.02.00 Page 2-SECTION 07 40 10 ms1222 2.04 FINISH A. Phosphatize galvanized sheet materials for primer coat of paint. B. Exterior surfaces of exterior metal panel systems: 1. Primer coat: 0.2 mil (127 micron) minimum dry film thickness. 2. Finish coat: Polyvinylidene fluoride coating with minimum of 70% "Kynar 500" or"Hylar 5000" resins. Provide dry film thickness of 0.8 mil (510 microns) minimum. 3. Apply coatings to steel in strict accordance with established coating manufacturer's standards. C. Miscellaneous flashings, metal closures, trim and other metal accessories: Same as that of adjacent panels, unless otherwise indicated. D. Exposed fasteners: Color coated to match panels and flashings. 2.05 PANEL TYPES A. Manufacturers are listed for product reference purposes. Equivalent products from other manufacturers are acceptable. B. Type A: 1. Description: IPP II Insulated Wall Panel System with concealed fasteners; as manufactured by Ceco. a. Minimum thickness of interior and exterior face material: 26-gage (0.5 mm) before galvanizing. b. Surface texture: Stucco embossed. 2. Color: To be selected by Owner from manufacturer's standard colors after award of contract. 3. Insulation: 2" (50 mm)thick foamed-in-place non-CFC polyisocyanurate, minimum density 2.2 Ib/cu ft(35.2 kg/cu m). 4. Noncom bustibility, when tested in conformance to ASTM E84: a. Flame spread: 25 or less. b. Fuel contributed: 0. c. Smoke developed: Less than 450. 5. Location: Where shown on Drawings. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 ERECTION A. Erect metal panel systems including flashings and trim in conformance to panel manufacturer's drawings and panel manufacturer's recommendations. Use workers experienced in erection of metal panel types specified. B. Seal and place gaskets to prevent weather penetration. Maintain neat appearance. C. Erect components of panels at or near the same time so that full strength of erected panel is attained as quickly as possible, unless otherwise specified herein. D. Fasten each panel to each structural support available to it. E. Flashings, trim and closures shall be installed weathertight. Following details as recommended by panel manufacturer and SMACNA Architectural Sheet Metal Manual, Sixth Edition. F. Carry vertical joints plumb and true to line. G. Replace or satisfactorily repair chipped or damaged panels or components of panel systems and trim. 23209.02.00 COMPOSITE PANELS ms1222 SECTION 07 40 10 - Page 3 H. Touch up minor nicks and scratches of exterior face sheet exposed surface finish as erection proceeds with coating material matching factory finish and recommended by manufacturer.
