RESOLUTION NO. 2026-435
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FAA AIP GRANT NO. 3-19-0094-059-
2026, IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,715,425.00, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE REHAB (MILL AND ASPHALT OVERLAY) PARTIAL
RUNWAY 18/36 PROJECT; REHAB (MILL AND CONCRETE
OVERLAY) PARTIAL RUNWAY 18-36 (APPROX. 81% OF THE
PROJECT) AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has been offered Federal Aviation
Administration Airport Improvement Program Grant No. 3-19-0094-059-2026 in the amount of
$3,715,425.00; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used in connection with the Rehab (Mill and Asphalt
Overlay) Partial Runway 18/36 Project and the Rehab (Mill and Concrete Overlay) Partial
Runway 18/36 Project, representing approximately eighty-one percent of the project; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of said grant will assist the City in completing necessary
rehabilitation improvements to Runway 18/36; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that acceptance of FAA Airport Improvement
Program Grant No. 3-19-0094-059-2026 is in the best interests of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the FAA Airport Improvement Program Grant No. 3-19-0094-059-2026, in the
amount of $3,715,425.00, is hereby accepted.
2. That the grant is accepted in connection with the rehabilitation of a portion of Runway
18/36, including mill and asphalt overlay work and mill and concrete overlay work, with the
latter constituting approximately eighty-one percent of the project.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents
on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August 2026.
