RESOLUTION NO. 2026-437
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY, OF DES MOINES, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $187,921.36, FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
STREETLIGHTS ON KATOSKI DRIVE AND GREENHILL ROAD, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE HUNTINGTON ROAD. AND KATOSKI
DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION, CONTRACT NO. 1123, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is undertaking the Huntington Road and Katoski
Drive Reconstruction Project, Contract No. 1123; and
WHEREAS, installation of streetlights on Katoski Drive and Greenhill Road is required
in connection with said project; and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, has submitted an
agreement to provide the required streetlight installation services in the amount of $187,921.36;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that approval of the agreement is in the best interests
of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the agreement between the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and MidAmerican Energy
Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, for installation of streetlights on Katoski Drive and Greenhill
Road in connection with the Huntington Road and Katoski Drive Reconstruction Project,
Contract No. 1123, in the amount of $187,921.36, is hereby approved.
2. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August 2026.
