RESOLUTION NO. 2026-407 RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS AUGUST 17, 2026, TO APPROVE THE REQUEST BY THE CITY OF WATERLOO TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 4.86 ACRES FROM "R-3" MULTIPLE RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO "R-2,R-P" PLANNED RESIDENCE DISTRICT AND "R-3,R-P" PLANNED MULTIPLE RESIDENCE DISTRICT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SIXTEEN LOTS AND THE EXPANSION OF BIRDEE COTTAGE AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has submitted a request to rezone approximately 4.86 acres of property from "R-3" Multiple Residence District to "R-2,R-P" Planned Residence District and "R-3,R-P" Planned Multiple Residence District; and WHEREAS, the requested rezoning is intended to allow for the development of sixteen (16) lots and the expansion of Birdee Cottage; and WHEREAS, before proceeding with the requested amendment to the City's zoning regulations and zoning map, the City Council must hold a public hearing following publication of notice as required by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that: 1. A public hearing be set for August 17, 2026, to receive public comments on the request by the City of Waterloo to rezone approximately 4.86 acres from "R-3" Multiple Residence District to "R-2,R-P" Planned Residence District and "R-3,R-P" Planned Multiple Residence District for the development of sixteen (16) lots and the expansion of Birdee Cottage. 2.
