RESOLUTION NO. 2026-413
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE LEISURE
SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,000.00
FOR ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE SPORTSPLEX.
WHEREAS, the City Council has discretionary Hotel -Motel Tax funds available for
projects and activities that promote tourism and visitation to the City of Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo Leisure Services Depaitinent has requested funding for
advertising and promotional activities for the Waterloo SportsPlex; and
WHEREAS, advertising the Waterloo SportsPlex will promote the facility, attract visitors
and event participants, and support tourism -related economic activity within the City of
Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the expenditure serves a public purpose and is an
appropriate use of Hotel -Motel Tax Council Discretionary Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves the award of $16,000.00 from the hotel/motel tax
discretionary fund to the Leisure Services Department.
