RESOLUTION NO. 2026-415
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE
AMERICAN LEGION BECKER-CHAPMAN POST 138 IN THE
AMOUNT OF $20,000.00, FOR THEIR ROOF RENOVATION
PROJECT.
WHEREAS the City Council has discretionary Hotel -Motel Tax funds available for
projects and activities that promote tourism and visitation to the City of Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, the American Legion Becker -Chapman Post 138 has requested funding for a
roof renovation; and
WHEREAS, maintain the American Legion facilities will attract visitors and event
participants, and support tourism -related economic activity within the City of Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the expenditure serves a public purpose and is an
appropriate use of Hotel -Motel Tax Council Discretionary Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves the award of $20,000.00 from the hotel/motel tax
discretionary fund to the American Legion Becker -Chapman Post 138 the roof renovation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August 2026.
