RESOLUTION NO. 2026-426
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO ADVANCED
ENVIRONMENTAL, OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$288,950.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SERVICES, CONTRACT AB-2026-07-01P
(70 SYCAMORE STREET), AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo solicited bids for Asbestos Abatement Services,
Contract AB-2026-07-01P, for the property located at 70 Sycamore Street; and
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental, of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted the lowest
responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $288,950.00; and
WHEREAS, the contract documents, including the contract, bonds, and certificate of
insurance submitted by Advanced Environmental, have been reviewed and are acceptable to the
City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the bid of Advanced Environmental, of Waterloo, Iowa, for Asbestos Abatement
Services, Contract AB-2026-07-01P, for 70 Sycamore Street, in the amount of $288,950.00, is
hereby accepted and awarded.
2. That the contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance submitted in connection with said
project are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August 2026.
