RESOLUTION NO. 2026-465
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY, OF DES MOINES, IOWA, IN
THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $2,818.31, FOR GAS MAIN
EXTENSION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026 PARKVIEW
MANOR AND W. 3RD STREET DETENTION BASIN, CONTRACT
NO. 1137, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo is undertaking the FY 2026 Parkview Manor and W.
3rd Street Detention Basin project, Contract No. 1137; and
WHEREAS, the project requires the extension of a gas main; and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, has submitted an
agreement for the gas main extension in the estimated amount of $2,818.31; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that entering into said agreement is necessary and in
the best interests of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, in the
estimated amount of Two Thousand Eight Hundred Eighteen and 31/100 Dollars ($2,818.31), for
a gas main extension in conjunction with the FY 2026 Parkview Manor and W. 3rd Street
Detention Basin, Contract No. 1137, is hereby approved.
2. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of August 2026.
