RESOLUTION NO. 2026-469
RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY AND SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC
HEARING AS SEPTEMBER 8, 2026, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
FY 2027 SIDEWALK REPAIR ASSESSMENT PROGRAM - ZONE 5B.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has approved the proposed
construction of sidewalk improvements in conjunction with the FY 2027 Sidewalk Repair
Assessment Program — Zone 5B; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has fixed the value of the lots, parcels, and tracts of land
subject to assessment and has adopted the proposed plat, schedule of assessments, and estimate
of costs for said improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed improvements are necessary and
that the properties to be assessed will be specially benefited by the construction of such
improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. It is hereby determined that the sidewalk improvements proposed in conjunction with
the FY 2027 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program — Zone 5B are necessary.
2. That a public hearing on the proposed improvements, proposed assessments, and
estimate of costs is hereby set for September 8, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at
Waterloo City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street, Waterloo, Iowa.

3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of the public hearing as required
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of August 2026.
