RESOLUTION NO. 2026-474
RESOLUTION APPROVING A JOINT FUNDING
AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT
OF THE INTERIOR GEOLOGICAL SURVEY CENTRAL
MIDWEST WATER SCIENCE CENTER, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$11,140.00, FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ONE
STEAMGAGING STATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo desires to support the operation and maintenance of
one streamgaging station to collect water -resource data for use in municipal planning,
stormwater management, flood monitoring, and related public purposes; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey,
Central Midwest Water Science Center, has proposed a Joint Funding Agreement for such
operation and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the City's contribution under the Joint Funding Agreement is $11,140.00;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that entering into the Joint Funding Agreement is in
the best interests of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the Joint Funding Agreement with the United States Department of the Interior,
U.S. Geological Survey, Central Midwest Water Science Center, in the amount of $11,140.00,
for the operation and maintenance of one streamgaging station, is hereby approved.
2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents
on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of August 2026.
