DAVID
JONES RE: FIVE SULLIVAN BROTHERS CONVENTION CENTER
Ward I AUDIO/VISUAL UPGRADE
CAROLYN Maximum Sight and Sound of Waterloo has submitted the low bid of$83,489.99 for the
COLE above-referenced project.
Ward 2
Two providers that have the capability to design, provide material and install were asked
HAROLD to provide proposals for the project. Maximum Sight and Sound of Waterloo and Sound
Wad Y Concepts of Cedar Rapids submitted proposals, as follows:
QUENTINM. Maximum Sight & Sound - $ 83,489.99
HART Sound Concepts - $ 103,046.05
Ward 4
The major difference in price is the labor cost of installation.
RON Maximum Sight & Sound - $ 7,900.00
WardsR Sound Concepts - $ 16,970.00
Ward 5
BOB Maximum Sight and Sound's bid includes the cost of wiring projectors, screen and digital
GREENWOOD displays with line voltage. Sound Concepts' bid does not.
At-Large
STEVE My recommendation is to award the project to Maximum Sight and Sound of Waterloo
SCHIv1Il"I for two major reasons:
Ar-Large 1. Low bid.
2. Waterloo based company that can service equipment in a timely manner.
Thank you for this consideration.

INTEGRATED SCREEN CONTROL SCB-100
The SCB-100 Serial Control Board allows for control over a screen using RS-232C communication and/or relay closures.Designed for the
simplest to most sophisticated system installations,a single Serial Control board provides control over any single motor screen, masking screen or
projector lift.
With dual RS-232 ports,simultaneous communication with NET-100 Ethernet-Serial adapter and a co .
When using RS 232 comunication, the screen can be polledthe to provide instant status of whether the screenthird isparty up,down
ntrol orsystem in a stopispossible position
even if commands are issued from a local or remote computer user control system or wall switch.
The Serial Control Board is available as a factory installed option inside r®,Adtage® Advantage®Deluxe and Director series
screens,or in an external the enclosure for use with legacy screen and projector lift models.Contou vane®,

NET-100 Ethernet-Serial Adapter
The NET-100 Ethernet-Serial Adapter allows any SCB 100 enabled screen to be controlled over a local area or wide-a network.
standard TCP/IP protocol and ma 10Base T connection, the NET 100 can be easily integrated into almost any existing local area network. With a
built-in web server,a screen may be accessed from any web browser software such as Microsoft Inttus
information. With a negligible increase in network traffic, screens may be deployed without concern for burdening existing network infrastructure
and resources.
When used in conjunctionth with the MNC-100 network management software, organizations may deployaE screens-too and lifts within a facility or
campus environment for e purposes of control, monitoring and security.

AUDIO/VISUAL UPGRADE - 1/13/10
All projectors are ceiling mounted with remote controls that will allow powerpoint
presentations, etc. Screens will also be flush ceiling mounted. This will offer the
security necessary so these items will not "grow legs" and walk off.
The project also includes a digital messaging center for internal directions and room
locations for events. This system will include four (4) digital monitors located throughout
the facility so at a glance visitors will know where events are located.
Recommendations and documents will follow.
Thank you for considering these items.
