RE: Request to seek RFP—Set date of hearing
We are requesting permission to seek RFP's from air service consulting firms interested
in working with the Waterloo Regional Airport to assist in providing professional air
service consulting services, including: developing economic business proposals,
developing a air service improvement plan, developing air cargo studies and ad hoc
research as needed.
We would also request to set the date of hearing as December 8, 2004.
The selected firm will provide air service consulting services to Waterloo Regional
Airport to assist in administering part of the $100,000 of administrative funds over a
three-year period. Of the $100,000, administrative grant funds available, 96.4.9%
($96,490) will be funded through a federal grant and 3.51% ($3,510) will be funded by
the Airport($1,755) and community($1,755) over a three-year period.
The air service RFP is enclosed for your review.
This air service improvement program is part of the Small Airport Air Service
Development Program that was recently approved by City Council.
