Service Roofing—McCandles Roof Replacement Project
Waterloo Regional Airport
Enclosed is change order #1 for our Roof replacement project at in the amount of$670
for wood and block replacements.
The contractor needed $450 of wood, as the existing wood was rotted and unable to
support the metal overhang. The contractor also needed $220 to replace and reset block
that was loose.
Our maintenance staff worked in coordination with the contractor to ensure existing
conditions and determine the need for additional materials.
This change order was approved by the Airport Board at the August 24, 2005 meeting.
This amendment will be funded in the same formula as the original contract, 100% IDOT
grant. There is no local taxpayer money involved.

RE: Approval of FY 06 IDOT CSVIP Agreement &
Award of contract to Service Roofing
DATE: July 18, 2005
Enclosed is an agreement between the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) and
the City of Waterloo (through the Waterloo Regional Airport) for $107,951 to fund the
remaining portion of an already approved hangar roof replacement project and additional
hangar improvements at the Airport.
As you may remember, on April 25, 2005, the City Council approved an award of
contract for $41,937.53 to Service Roofing for the replacement of a portion of the hangar
roof at McCandles Aviation. The bid for the total project was $138,242.00. Since we
only had $41,937.53 of IDOT grant funding in hand, the City Council approved an award
of contract to Service Roofing & Company for $41,937.53. Now that we have received
this IDOT FY 06 grant for $107,951, we are asking for approval to award the remaining
bid amount of the McCandles hangar roof replacement project in the amount of
$96,304.47 to Service Roofing. We will use the remaining $11,646.53 to fund hangar
facility improvements in the near future.
All of the facilities are owned by the City of Waterloo and the repairs to these facilities
are the most critical maintenance needs.
The grant will fund 100%for eligible project costs. There is no local match.
The Airport Board at the regular meeting on April 20, 2005 approved the application for
this agreement.
