Dear Ms.Gulick,
We have received your August 31,2009 submittal regarding the above-referenced federal undertaking. We make the
following comments and recommendations based upon our review of this material and in accordance with Section 106 of the
National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (16 U.S.C. 470 et seq.)and its implementing regulations 36 CFR Part 800
(revised,effective August 5,2004).
We regret that we are unable to concur with your determination of`no historic properties'at this time,because, in our
consulting opinion,the project documentation does not support such a conclusion. The results of the I-Sites Archaeological -
Sites and Surveys Databases indicates that a number of sites both historic and prehistoric have been reported in the
immediate area. I-Sites further indicates that the subject parcel has never been subject of intensive-level investigation.

Archaeological survey prior to earthmoving is recommended if profound disturbance of the area of potential effect cannot be
credibly demonstrated.
