RESOLUTION NO. 2007-1024
RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO
ADVANCED ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING & ABATEMENT,
INC. OF WATERLOO, IOWA, FOR ASBESTOS REMOVAL,
93 AND 97 VINTON STREET, CONTRACT NO. 129-AR-
11-13-07-GO, IN THE AMOUNT OF $109, 430 . 00 .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That the bid of Advanced Environmental Testing & Abatement,
Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa, in the amount of $109, 430 . 00, for
Asbestos Removal, 93 and 97 Vinton Street, Contract No. 129-AR-
11-13-07-GO, described in the plans and specifications heretofore
adopted by this Council for said project, after public hearing on
published notice required by law, be and is hereby accepted, the
same being the lowest bid received for said work.
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby directed to execute
contract with the said contractor for the construction of said
improvements, said contract not to be binding on the City until
approved by this Council .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of December, 2007 .

Staff previously obtained authorization to solicit bids for the removal of asbestos from two
HAROLD (2) Commercial Structures each owned by the City of Waterloo: (1) 97 Vinton St., former
GETTY
Ward 3 Cooper Building, and (2) 93 Vinton St., the Mechanical Shop, both stand-alone structures
located on the riverfront in Waterloo.

KINCAID Advanced Environmental was the only firm submitting a bid, in the amount of
$109,430.000. Staff believes this is a competitive quote. Staff now seeks authorization to
RON enter into a contract with Advanced Environmental. Staff will prepare appropriate Plans
wELPER and Specifications.

BOB Staff is requesting that the Mayor and any other appropriate person(s) execute the attached
GREENWOOD Contract. The funding source is G.O. Bonds.
