RESOLUTION NO. 2007-951
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TO PROCEED WITH
ASBESTOS REMOVAL FOR 93 AND 97 VINTON STREET,
CONTRACT NO. 129-AR-11-12-07-GO.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2007-950, plans, specifications,
etc. , for Asbestos Removal for 93 and 97 Vinton Street, Contract
No. 129-AR-11-12-07-GO, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, have been
approved and adopted by this Council after the hearing prescribed
by statute.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that it is deemed advisable and necessary and it
is so ordered on motion by this Council that the said improvements
be constructed in accordance with said plans and specifications .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of November, 2007 .

HAROLD Staff is seeking permission to solicit bids for the removal of asbestos from two (2)
GETTY Commercial Structures each owned by the City of Waterloo: (1) 97 Vinton St., former
Ward 3 Cooper Building, and (2) 93 Vinton St., the Mechanical Shop, both stand-alone structures
located on the riverfront in Waterloo.

Ward 4 After soliciting competitive bids Staff will then seek authorization to enter into a contract
with the lowest responsible bidder. Staff will prepare appropriate Plans and Specifications.

Ward 5 The Bid Due Date is November 5, 2007. The anticipated award date is November 12,
2007. It is anticipated that the costs of the removal will exceed $25,000, and therefore a
BOB public hearing is required. The funding source is G.O. Bonds.
