Summary Statement: Staff has identified six(6) structures in need of an asbestos survey,
RON asbestos abatement, and subsequent demolition. These lots are targeted for potential in-fill
WELPER housing development or elimination of slum and blight. The five structures on Lafayette
Ward 5Street are City-owned, acquired either through the 657A legal process or acquisition;the
BOB sixth, 706 W. 1s1 Street, is the only court-ordered demolition.

At-Large Expenditure Required: Estimated not to exceed $3,200.00 for six units.

SCHIvIIl I' Source of Funds: HUD-EDI funding for the five Brownfield sites on Lafayette and G.O.
At-Large funding for 706 W. 1st which is not in the Brownfield.
Policy Issue: Slum and Blight,Public Safety,Housing
Alternative: None. Abatement before demolition required by State and Federal law.
