RESOLUTION NO. 2009-64
RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO WBC
MECHANICAL INC. OF WATERLOO, IOWA FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF CHILLER PLANT AND UPGRADE OF
AIR HANDLING UNITS AT THE WATERLOO CENTER FOR
THE ARTS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $561, 547 . 92 .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That the bid of WBC Mechanical Inc . of Waterloo, Iowa, in
the amount of $561, 547 . 92 , for the Installation of Chiller Plant
and Upgrade of Air Handling Units at the Waterloo Center For The
Arts, described in the plans and specifications heretofore
adopted by this Council for said project, after public hearing on
published notice required by law, be and is hereby accepted, the
same being the lowest bid received for said work.
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby directed to execute
contract with the said contractor for the construction of said
improvements, said contract not to be binding on the City until
approved by this Council .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of February, 2009 .

` an1 This project was bid January 26, 2009. After review by Gilmor & Doyle, the
RON engineering company on the project, low bid goes to WBC Mechanical of Waterloo.
WELTER Young Plumbing and Heating of Waterloo was second low bid.

BOB The low bid price for the complete project, Phase I and Phase II, with the use of
GREENWOOD Artic Chill units is $561,547.92. We presently have $467,202.00 in C.I.P. funding
At-Large for the project. We will find the additional dollars in other C.I.P. funds for city
STEVE building improvements to fund the project.
SCHMITT
At-Large I'm recommending the award of the Center for the Arts Chiller upgrade project to
WBC Mechanical of Waterloo for a total cost of$561,547.92.
