Ward 2 Staff is seeking authorization to solicit bids for the General Obligation Bond Combined
Asbestos Removal and Demolition Project, Contract No. 149-D/AR-GO-07-23-07, using
BUCK
CLARK Plans and Specification to be prepared by the City's Community Development Office. There
Ward 3 are two, City-owned, commercial properties slated for demolition in this project to be listed as
base bid. The property addresses are as follows: Base Bid: 206 W. Mullan and 218 W. 3rd St..

Warn!4 The Demolition Contractor, as Prime Contractor, will also be responsible for completing or
subcontracting the completion of Asbestos Removal at both structures. Therefore, this is a

It is also possible that Underground Storage Tank(s) (UST)will be removed during the

At-Large date). It is anticipated that the estimated cost of this contract will exceed the $25,000 threshold,
therefore a public hearing is required.

At-Large It is recommended that Council authorize bid solicitation on July 9, 2007, appropriately
publish/advertise the bid solicitation, and set July 23, 2007, as the date for the awarding of the
contract to the lowest qualified bidder. Staff will solicit bids from no fewer than three (3)
qualified firms.
